A romantic dinner in a house rumored to be haunted is bound to be a memorable experience for you and your date. A little intrigue mixed in with the coziest of settings has a funny way of creating a very romantic atmosphere. It does not hurt also that the Haunted House serves an excellent steak, fine wine, and gives great service. The Haunted House is an excellent choice for those seeking a quiet, candlelit romantic dinner. And even better for those who want something slightly different than the average upscale restaurant. Sometimes the most romantic dinners are casually fun. Bahama Breeze has the relaxing vibe of a vacation, without the expensive trip. And no worries losing your luggage here. Just good food and good times. Have a taste of the Island by ordering such entrees as their West Indies Ribs, Jerk Chicken Pasta, or one of my favorites, Coconut Shrimp. Save room for dessert. Their Dulce de Leche Cheesecake, Chocolate Island, and Rebecca’s Key Lime Pie should not be missed. After dinner, order their signature frozen margarita, Bahamarita (frozen margarita with Cuervo Gold Tequila and kiwi, mango, and strawberry ices) and move out to their patio to enjoy the night air. Cattlemen’s Steakhouse
A romantic dinner at Oklahoma’s oldest running restaurant, Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, is like dining with history. Its cowboy charm and nostalgic atmosphere get me every time. I like the chicken fried steak, but sometimes you just have to have the Presidential Choice T-Bone Steak. Whatever you go with though, it will be good. Cattlemen’s Steakhouse is located at 1309 S. Steak and Ale
A safe choice for a romantic dinner; Steak and Ale delivers fairly consistently in all things romantic. Cozy seating for two. More secluded dining areas. Quiet enough to have a good conversation. Friendly service. Pretty English décor. Good food at reasonable prices. Their signature entrée is the Herb Roasted Prime Rib. They have other selections of steak and beef available, as well as seafood and chicken entrees. Personally, I have always been a fan of their Hawaiian Chicken. Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy
A nice Mexican restaurant, decorated with large statues, lush plants, historic murals which give it a bit of an exotic feel for a romantic dinner. Abuelo’s serves delicious and fresh Tex-Mex cuisine. Their complimentary salsa is so addictive. And they offer a very hot salsa as well for those who dare to try it (not me). A few of their menu house specialties are Alambre De Camaron (grilled bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with jalapeno and mixed cheese), Enchiladas De Cozumel (three avacado enchiladas covered in white wine sauce with shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, and roasted peppers), and Steak Banderillas (two skewers of seasoned steak and fresh vegetables, wood-grilled and basted with an ancho chile marinade). Of course they have the usual tacos, enchiladas, tamales, nachos, and fajitas; and a whole lot more. But sometimes it is fun to try something a little different during a romantic dinner.
