Whether you are a visitor on the island of Maui on your honeymoon, or a resident on a permanent vacation, there is little that can improve a night like a romantic dinner for two. Here are the best spots for a romantic dinner in West Maui.
Plantation House, located at 2000 Plantation Club Drive, offers breathtaking views of a beautiful golf course, the stunning Pacific, even the island of Molokai. Entrees are excellent and consist mostly of steak and seafood. Plantation House is a bit off the beaten path, one mile past the Kapalua exit on Highway 30 North. Just take a right at Plantation Golf Course. Make reservations by calling 808-669-6299.
Kimo’s, located at 845 Front Street, is right on the water and offers magnificent food at reasonable prices. Although the views can be cut off in certain areas of the restaurant, the setting is very romantic. Again the steak and seafood are superb. Located in Lahaina, it’s the perfect spot for that romantic dinner that can be followed-up with some of West Maui’s sizzling nightlife. Reservations are recommended; you can make them by calling 808-661-4811.
If you’re in the mood for French cuisine, you can’t go wrong at Gerard’s. Located at 174 Lahainaluna Road in Lahaina, Gerard’s offers delectable dishes such as venison, lamb, beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Service is excellent. But the prices are fairly steep. Save Gerard’s for that special occasion, like the last night of your honeymoon or Valentine’s Day. Make reservations by calling 808-661-8939.
Hecock’s on the Ocean overlooks the beautiful island of Lanai. Located at 505 Front Street, restaurants don’t get much more romantic than this. The food is always good, and Hecock’s on the Ocean is also a great place for lunch. For reservations, call 808-661-8810.
Right alongside you will find Pacific ‘O, one of the most popular restaurants on all of Maui. This Pacific Rim restaurant is the brainchild of premier chef James McDonald. The creations are imaginative and delicious. The service is near perfect. And the desserts are to die for. Definitely call for reservations if you plan on making Pacific ‘O the destination for your romantic night. Their telephone number is 808-667-4341.
If you’re interested in a romantic Italian meal, pay a visit to Longhi’s. Located at 888 Front Street, Longhi’s in Lahaina has been serving West Maui for more than three decades. It was established in 1976. Make sure you take a peek at the menu they keep downstairs before you are seated at your table, because you won’t receive one there. Your server will simply ask you what you’re in the mood for. Some people complain; I think it’s interesting and unique. Then again, I usually know what I want for dinner before I sit down at any restaurant. Call for reservations: 808-667-2288.
I’m not a fan of sushi, but even I have to admit that Sansei does everything right. Located at the Kapalua Bay Hotel at 115 Bay Drive in Kapalua, Sansei serves exceptional sushi and a variety of other Japanese dishes. Give them a call at 808-669-6286.
If you want a truly romantic experience, make a reservation for a window table at Sea House right before sunset. Located at 5900 Lower Honoapiilani Road at the Napili Kai Beach Resort, Sea House is a Pacific Rim restaurant that offers fabulous seafood, steak, and chicken dishes, all at a reasonable price. Call 808-669-1500 to make those reservations.
