If you’re looking to pop the question in Raleigh, NC there are several excellent locations to do it. Keep in mind that a wedding proposal is something very personal. While many locations will do the trick, you want to pick a location that will have some significance to both you and the person you plan on proposing to. Your wedding proposal is a moment that you are going to remember for the rest of your life, make it count by picking the perfect location.
The Rose Garden
301 Pogue St
Raleigh, NC 27650
The rose garden is a location you want to visit in the spring or summer when there are in fact roses. If you’ve never been to the garden before scope it out beforehand. For the most part the location is, well, a garden of roses. There are tons of different varieties and colors of roses growing throughout the grounds. Walking through the rose garden can be a great afternoon event for you and your soon to be fiancé. There are several secluded benches tucked away where you can pop the question. Raleigh Little Theater performs here quite regularly in the warmer months using the garden as a backdrop for plays, so consult their schedule before you head out and make sure you’re not going to stumble in on a performance.
The Art Museum
NC Museum of Art
2110 Blue Ridge Rd
Raleigh, NC 27607
In addition to having a rather impressive collection of art inside the museum, the NC Museum of Art also has a collection of art outside of the museum. On the far end of the museum property there is a path with several outside exhibits. The area back there is pretty open making it an excellent location for star gazing. You can also see the lit up rings from the museum from out in the field. If you go in the daytime one of the exhibits is a tree house made from twisting the existing branches of a tree. It’s a pretty impressive feat and could make for an interesting proposal location for a significant other who is still a kid at heart.
Raleigh is home to the 2006 NHL Stanley Cup Champion’s, The Carolina Hurricanes who play in the RBC Center. Also in the RBC you will find NC State’s basketball team, and nearby their football team. A few miles away are the Durham Bulls and Mudcats baseball teams and a sea of other collegiate athletic teams. If you plan on proposing to a sports nut, then a sporting event can be an excellent place to ask the big question. Contact the sports team ahead of time for an extra special treat and see if you can get on the Jumbotron during a game break. Keep in mind embarrassing someone is not the way to their heart. Think about whether or not your significant other would appreciate a huge public proposal before you set anything up, otherwise it might backfire!
Looking Out on Raleigh’s Skyline
With the addition of the latest building downtown, Raleigh is developing a reasonably impressive skyline. Chances are you can find somewhere downtown that has an excellent view of the town, perhaps the newly opened Fayetteville Street and pop the question over a glass on wine looking out at the stars above the city. If you and your significant other have a favorite place to go downtown then go there. Otherwise the Capitol can be a great location to visit, as can City Market. There are several very nice restaurants that have opened up downtown. Take your love to a romantic dinner and then a walk out on the town.
