Episode 2 of Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” did not have the financial catfights that the first episode did. I have to be honest; I wasn’t as excited about this week’s episode as I was last week. Though there are still some great issues that were brought up during the task, at the boardroom, and the after-party at the famous Playboy Mansion.
What are the lessons we can learn from Donald, Ivanka, Hugh Hefner, and the contestants? Those lessons are following your dreams, do your research, take calculated risks, and much more.
After the first loss from Team Arrow we find them talking about how they have to return to “Trump Trailer Park” once again. Both teams are receive a phone call around 6 am and told to meet Donald Trump at Pacific Palisades Park. It is here that we find out that the two teams will design men and women’s bathing suits for Trina Turk and her buyers.
Know your market
I don’t know if Carey was trying to push the issue of gay style swimwear or was just trying to make a statement but everyone on Team Arrow should have known the market that they were designing for.
I love Carey for taking a risk and promoting the European more than a Speedo swimsuit. Sometimes, taking a leap into unfamiliar waters can be beneficial. Donald Trump is correct though, 95% of the male population does not have the body to wear this style of swimsuit.
I think that the pink design that only covered Carey’s privates and buttocks would have been better suited for the women’s swimsuit selection. Ivanka Trump and I both agree that if Team Arrow had paired the sporty shorts with a bikini top, I think it would have been a hit.
Be Decisive
If Nicole is going to step up and become Project Manager for Team Arrow on “The Apprentice” she should have been decisive. Two people on her team did not like the idea of Carey’s swimsuit design. Yet, video footage on “The Apprentice” show and website show that she barely made a comment.
If there is one thing I have learned, as a supervisor everything comes back to you. If team members thought that the design wasn’t going to work then Nicole should have told Carey to redesign the suit.
Don’t put yourself on the chopping block
Later in the episode we find Team Arrow from “The Apprentice” coming home from the swimsuit competition. Immediately, Carey says that he will probably not be around and that the team members should just not talk to him about it.
Wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong! Instead of isolating himself, Carey should have been discussing the situation with team members. He should have been creating a battle plan for the boardroom.
Speak Up For Yourself
In the boardroom on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” we find Team Arrow facing the chopping block. Before Nicole, Michelle, and Carey faced the famous three, it seems that Donald Trump is chiding Carey about the swimsuit.
I honestly think that Carey should have pushed his idea with earnest and spoken up for himself. When looking at the clips, Team Arrow and Donald Trump seem to be laughing at Carey instead of laughing with him.
Follow Your Dream & Take Risks
Team Kinetic gets to mingle with the bunnies as a reward for their win at the swimsuit task. I’m not talking about cute fuzzy bunnies; I’m talking about Playboy bunnies. Team Kinetic sits down with the Playboy Hugh Hefner for a chat. We learn from this millionaire that people should follow their dreams and take risks.
