Some of the children have mobility challenges. The camp welcomes all eligible children however, due to the topography of the campsite, there are a limited number of spaces for children in wheelchairs and crutches.

Camp Holiday was in fact created specifically for the chronically ill child in order to educate, empower, and encourage them and their attitudes toward life.
The actual facility at Camp Holiday Trails sits outside of Charlottesville Virginia, and consists of 85 acres of woodlands, with 5 youth cabins, and 2 teen cabins set amidst the beauty. There is of course a dining hall and commercial kitchen, an activity pavilion, swimming pool, and a sport court. In the mornings music, drama, arts and crafts, nature, and yoga is offered. In addition to all of the fun activities designed specifically for chronically ill children to participate in at Camp Holiday Trails, there is also a therapeutic riding program; a challenge ropes course, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing.
There is also a completely fully equipped health care center on the facility. Considering most of the children in attendance are chronically ill children, medical staff makes their rounds daily to ensure the children that are required to take daily meds do in fact receive them according to their regular schedules.
This is the perfect camp for the very special perfect child that requires just a little bit more care. They require that extra push, the extra nudge, the extra smile, or maybe even just the extra person to listen as they express their feelings about their lives in the best possible way that is emotionally healthy for them.
