This easy and beautiful Champagne Candle is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home. These champagne flutes filled with candles will fool everyone and blend right in with your romantic Valentine’s Day table setting.
To Make This Simple Champagne Candle You Will Need:
Champagne Glassed or Flutes
Medium Density Gel Wax
1 Prepared Zinc Core Wick
Yellow Candle Dye
Fragrance is optional
The first step is squeeze out a glob of hot glue on the bottom of your wick and press it in the center of the bottom of your champagne flute or glass candle votive.
Tip: Check out your local Goodwill store for inexpensive champagne flutes. I find them there all the time for about a quarter. With that price you can make quite a few of these champagne candles and give them as hostess gifts all during the year.
Now, take your medium density gel wax and melt it in a double boiler on your stove. I like to use an old metal coffee can for this. Just place it in a pot of water and start adding the candle wax into the coffee can.
Candle making is so simple; so do not be put off by this if you have never made a candle before. They even have candle making kits for kids now, so almost anyone can really make beautiful candles themselves!
If you are going to add fragrance, do it now while the wax is liquid. Continually stir the melted wax.
This is also the time to add your yellow or gold colored dye. Add the dye and stir until your clear wax looks like the color of bubbly champagne.
Now, slowly start to pour your champagne candle wax into your glass champagne flute. You want to work slowly and don’t splatter any of the hot wax on you. The opening of a champagne flute can be very small, so if you need to you could use a funnel to do this step.
Repeat adding another layer of melted wax until the champagne flute is filled.
Continue this until you have reached the top of the clear glass. You want to fill the candle up to about 1.2 to 1 inch below the rim of the champagne glass. You may find that as the wax dries you get a little dip in the top of the wax. You can reheat your wax and pour some more in to fill it back up to level.
You can also use some hot glue to attach a pretty border of small ribbon pearls around the top rim of the glass candle votive.
This simple Champagne Candle craft is the perfect candle all year long for anyone who loves to set a beautiful table scape for special dinner parties.
