Spring comes late to Idaho and when it does, the towns and villages in the valleys burst to life with spectacular flower displays and the citizens get to celebrate what makes their particular part of the county so special and beautiful, and they would very much like to share the celebrations with people from as many different places as possible. These spring festivals celebrate life and if you have never been to Idaho, then take a weekend and come and see what all the talk is about. You just might find a spot that you want to return to again and again.
Dogwood Festival of the Lewis and Clark Valley
The people of Lewiston , Idaho sure know how to throw a festival. This one lasts a whole month April 1 to 30 and has events going on the whole time. This would make a great place for an Easter or Spring Break vacation, or for a weekend getway. Those who live near Lewiston are lucky. They can see the whole festival, but for others it is pick and choose your activity. There is an art show, a kids art show, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, a 5 k run and plenty more,
Moscow Renaissance Fair, Moscow Idaho
Renaissance Fairs are always a great experience. There are fans who travel all over the country attending as many as they can. This year the festival is to be held on May 5 and 6, making it a great weekend getaway and a perfect way to say goodby to winter. There will be plenty of food and free entertainment, with some things you do not usually see such as a May Pole Dance, and fire spinning. There is a costume contest, followed by a parade.
The Fifteenth Annual Snowboard Rally at Pebble Creek Saturday, March 10th and Sunday, March 11th
It may be spring, but winter does not like to leave and Idaho does have some great spring skiing. So for those who hate to see winter fade away, here is a chance for one more snowboard run. Now, if you have been practicing all year longs, this is your chance to show off your skills and maybe walk away with a prize.
The 7th Annual Challis Mountain Lilac Festival!
Nothing says spring more than fields of lilacs, but this festival is much more than beautiful flowers. There will be events going on the months of May and June, so there are plenty of choices. There has to be a weekend in there where you can get away to visit a different and beautiful part of the country. The arts and crafts expo May 26th and 27th will have a free concert to entertain you in between shopping around. May 20, 21you can participate in The Lilac Festival Golf Tournament, The Lilac Festival 9 Pin No Tap Singles Bowling Tournament on June 3rd, The Challis Classy Chassis Car Show on June 2nd, The Muzzball Golf Tournament June 10, 11 and this is only some of what will be going on.
