Since the first baths of Crete, built for the legendary King Minos, there has been something luxurious about bathing. It’s not just a hop in the shower to clean or energize, it’s personal time surrounded by the warmth of fragrant, soft water. And while most of us aren’t Cleopatra bathing in milk, we want to treat ourselves like royalty for at least those few moments in our day.
Whether for a gift to a loved one or as a treat for yourself, this bath set will set the stage for luxuriating. The washcloth is created with a crosshatch texture that is gently exfoliating, and the wrap of the bath mitt around the hand is thick and perfect for using with your favorite shower gels.
This pattern set is written with the beginning crocheter in mind, so it doesn’t use abbreviations. This makes it a perfect starter project for beginners, while yielding a set that’s beautiful enough to please advanced crocheters.

Pattern Notes
For a softer washcloth, stick with yarns like Caron Simply Soft. Regular worsted weight yarns like Red Heart Super Saver have a stiffer, more substantial feel and are great for exfoliating. Lion Brand Chenille is washable and all luxury. All 3 of these choices are medium/worsted weight yarns and will work without changes to the pattern.
