Kids can easily make these simple Easter bunnies out of clay and se them as game pieces in their favorite board games. This simple Easter craft uses air drying clay, some acrylic paint, and a little time. Let the kids get creative when creating their Easter themed Game pieces.
Monopoly is an ideal game for this craft. The kids can make Easter bunnies, ducks, and even Jellybeans for the houses and hotels.
To Make a Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces You Will Need:
Air Drying Clay or Polymer Clay
Paring knife
Toothpick
Acrylic Paints (Variety of Colors)
Clear Acrylic Spray Paint
Hot Glue
Small round wood cut outs (optional)
Scissors
The first step is to roll some of your air drying clay out to a slab of about 1/4inch thick. You can make this slab of clay as big or as little as you want. This is a great project to cut a bunch of Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces out at once.
Now, have the kids trace their Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces out on the clay. They can make any rabbit shapes they want. Let them get creative here. Their Easter bunnies can be holding baskets, wearing bow ties, and more.
Remove your Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces from the slab of clay.
Now, the kids will need to create a base for the Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces to stand on. They can use a small round circle cut out of the slab of clay or even use a pre made small wood cut out from the craft store.
So, if they are using clay they need to attach the Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces to the base while the clay is still wet. If they are using the small round wood cut out, then let the clay dry and glue them on with hot glue then.
Now, the kids can also make coils of clay and build more game pieces that way.
Either way let the Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces dry completely. The air-drying clay package should tell you how long this part would take.
Once your clay Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces have dried you can paint them with pastel acrylic paint. Allow this paint to completely dry, and then paint the Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces entirely with a sheer coat of clear acrylic spray paint. Again, let this clear paint dry.
Tip: Do not use too much glue if you are using the round wood cut outs. It is not necessary and will only show on the Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces as it squishes out around the round wood cut outs.
The kids can personalize these Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces by carving or paint their initials one it.
Tip: Once the clay Easter Bunny Game Board Pieces has dried you can take them outside an spray them with a coat of black or gray spray-paint. This will go ahead an coat the game piece in a color and make painting the small details easier.
