This simple Easter Bunny apron is such a fun Easter craft that almost any kid should be able to make. Using a simple pre made pink, lemon yellow, or lavender canvas apron makes this project simple and fun! The kids can use anything form puff paint, fabric paint, to felt to add the details.
You can make this easy Easter Bunny apron craft project in about 1 hour or less. You should expect to pay about $5 for a plain yellow or pink canvas apron and about another $5 on materials per apron.
To Make This Simple Easter Bunny Apron You Will Need:
1 plain solid colored apron
Exacto knife
Fabric paint
Stencil paintbrush
Felt square (at least 2 colors)
Pink felt square
Fabric glue
Scissors
Chalk
Black felt square
Now, the body of the apron will be the face of the Easter bunny, so you will be putting the features of your Easter bunny on the apron.
Use some matching felt the same color as your apron to make the ears of your Easter bunny first.
Cut out two long thin ovals. Cut out two thinner ovals in another colors and glue them down. These will be the inside of the ears.
Now, attach your long thin ears from the top inside of the apron. You can pin them in place and sew a simple straight line across attaching them.
If you want long floppy ear that will hang over the Easter bunny face then make them long. For more sturdy ears that stand up straight make them short.
Use the orange felt to cut out a carrot nose. Glue it I place in the middle of the apron.
You can add some whiskers with black puff paint or even some more black felt.
Cut the eyes out with white felt and blue felt for the iris. Add some eye lids in another pastel color. You can use some puff paint to add some eyelashes. For a boy Easter bunny you could add some bushy eyebrows!
Use fabric glue to glue them onto the apron.
Now, once you have the nose and eyes on the Easter bunny apron you can use black puff paint to draw on a mouth. Start directly on the bottom middle of the carrot. Draw a line straight down about three inches. Then have is curve up left and then right.
Let the kid get creative with all the details. They can add a big white pom pom to one of the string that ties the Easter bunny apron.
To do this have someone put the apron on. Tie the strings as usual. Now, place the large white pom pom where the tail should be. Use a needle and some white thread to attach the pom pom to the canvas Easter bunny apron ties.
In place of a carrot nose you could also use a pink pom pom on the Easter bunny apron craft project.
