Sleeping Pills Can Cause Snoring
Relaxing might make you sleep better, but anything that relaxes the muscles in your throat, like alcohol, tranquilizers, antihistamines, or sleeping pills, will make your snoring worse. So, if you are a snorer who sometimes has trouble sleeping, try to find more natural ways to deal with your insomnia.
Losing Weight Can Help
Studies have shown that when snorers lose weight, even if it’s just a few pounds, their snoring tends to be less severe. And, for some, their snoring stops completely.
Eating healthy and exercising regularly will improve your overall health, and help with your snoring in the process.
Get Rid of Your Pillow
A pillow, especially a large one, can make your snoring more severe. So, try sleeping without a pillow. Or, at least, use a much smaller one.
Try a Nasal Spray
If your snoring is caused or worsened by colds or allergies, a nasal spray could be just what you need. Just remember to follow the directions on the package carefully. If your snoring wakes you, or your loved one, up in the middle of the night, you might be tempted to take another shot of nasal spray much earlier than the directions indicate.
