(This story, Especially For Rachel, Butterflies Abound, or this series of stories has been inspired by my beautiful niece Rachel. It is dedicated especially to her.
I write novels and most of them deal with adult content. The material of my novels is too adult for a young lady like my niece, Rachel.
One day, my sister told me a story. She said that my niece wanted to show her friends that her aunt writes books. My sister allowed her to take one of my novels into school to show her friends the book. When Rachel came home from school that day she confessed to my sister that she did read some of the book and expressed sorrow that she could not read any more of it. In fact, she was very upset.
I was so touched when my sister asked me if there were appropriate stories in my portfolio that my niece could read. My novels include adult content and there were not any that a young lady, like Rachel, could read. I decided to immediately write a story so that my niece could read it and that is how Especially For Rachel came into being.
The series, Especially For Rachel, a series for young ladies, first story will be called Butterflies Abound.)
Especially For Rachel – Butterflies Abound
“It’s spring.” Carly’s curls bobbed about her cheerful face. The sunlight swept across her skin making her feel happy and leaving her cheeks glowing. Carly stopped, almost out of breath and stood next to Merilyn, her friend. “I love the spring.”
Merilyn smiled happily. “Me, too. My mom said it was okay to come to your house straight from school today so we can play for a while.”
“Great. Let’s go, so we can get to my house as soon as possible. We can play outside, since it’s so nice.” She glanced up at the sky and took a deep breath. Carly pulled at Merilyn’s small hand and they ran together to the school bus.
Carly and Merilyn were all set to enjoy the spring weather but, someone else didn’t love the spring and he was a mean man that lived down the street from Carly’s house. Little did Carly and Merilyn know that this mean man was about to make it very difficult for them to enjoy the spring.
He was going to put a stop to all their fun because he wasn’t a nice person, at least not at this time. He used to be, but that was before. Now he just couldn’t stand to see anyone having fun, especially running around in the yard trying to catch butterflies in the net that the girls so much enjoyed doing. To him, butterflies were big nuisances and he was probably the only one in the world who thought that way. The girls had not idea that he thought that way. Everyone else loves butterflies so who would have thought…
