“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” —1 Corinthians 10:31
It is time for Christians to be serious and focused when it comes to the every day things we do. Many times we forget who we are and mindlessly follow the world when we should be a light to the world. We often lose sight of our purpose like a teacher leaves the classroom to chat with another teacher forgetting the importance of our role in the world. We are to be a light in the darkness to show the world how good and thorough God is when he makes rules only for our benefit. We need to stop playing around and be serious in this day an age to represent God in all we do. This is the acknowledgment that he taught us something the world should know.
The first thing we should remember in our role as Christians is to witness to the world how right God is about how we live. Everything from how we spend our money, how we dress, our diet and how we treat others reveals our character. We should be aware of what we do careful not to mislead others down the wrong path. Temperance should be shown in everything we do, and restraint when it comes to indulging on anything that is for fun more than it is for God. Meaning, we expect the police, the government, and teachers to be in control , why shouldn’t Christians? After all, it is a role all believers signed up for and it should be easier than joining the army. The rules of conduct for God is no different than the rules of conduct anywhere else, except that God gives us a choice. We all know it will not be easy, but it is the least we can do to let God know we believe he is right. This is having faith and believing on what HE says.
It is our duty to uphold and teach by example the importance of a healthy diet. Diet today is an issue due to the rise in obesity and disease even among children. We should all prepare healthful meals that are free from intoxication and stimulation. Moreover, we all know what foods give us the same buzz as drugs and alcohol does. ‘The rich man’s dainties’ taste’s unforgettably scrumptious, and many people of the world may have introduced these delicacies to us at a party. One taste and we think we are hooked to want it again and again. However, it effects our intelligence and steals our energy while silently injuring our bodies. In other words, stay away from strong black and other caffeine teas, coffee, condiments, and unhealthful foods to keep in good health. We know by experience that it is hard to concentrate when we are sick or getting sick. A healthy body makes a healthy mind that will make us ready to hear God’s directions.
