Farrah Fawcett is a very well known actress and model. She has starred in many movies. Her very first film was “Myra Brekenridge”, in 1969.
From there she has starred in may more, such as, “The Six Million Dollar Man”, “Charlie’s Angels”, “Somebody Killed Her Husband”, “Sunburn”, “Saturn 3”, “Man of the House”, and the strongest role she ever played in all of her career was, “The Burning Bed”,of 1985, playing the role of a battered wife. Farrah has earned several Emmy Award nominations for her work in television.
Farrah also co-starred with Robert Duvall and Billy Bob Thornton in the 1997 film, “The Apostle”, also with Richard Gere and Helen Hunt in Robert Altman’s film of 2000, “Dr. T and the Women.”
She was discovered as a model when she was starring in “Charlie’s Angels.” She was asked to pose as a pin up girl, wearing a red bathing suit.
Farrah was born in Corpus Christi,Texas on February 2, 1947. She Just recently celebrated her 60th birthday. Her birth name is Mary Farrah Leni Fawcett. She was born to Pauline Fawcett (nee Evans), and James Fawcett, who was an oil-field contractor.
Farrah attended W.B. Ray High school in Corpus Christi Texas, and also attended The University of Texas, in Austin Texas.
Farrah has been linked to many well known people such as Greg Lott, who was a businessman, Martin Barba, a professional tennis player, Lee Majors, a well known actor, who she married in July of 1973. They separated in 1979, and divorced in 1982. She has also been in other relationships with James Orr, a director. They separated in 1998. She was also with Ryan O’Neal, together from 1979-1997. They have one son together, Redmond James O’ Neal.
Farrah has been fighting cancer for four months, and her recent test results declared that she is finally cancer free. Farrah said that she had been undergoing “a tremendously aggressive treatment, which doctors had warned would be the most difficult fight of her life.”
“In the face of excruciating pain and uncertainty, I never lost hope”, she said, also adding, “I hope that my news might offer some level of inspiration to others who unfortunately must continue to fight the disease.”
Her lead Physician, Dr. Gary Gitnick, at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical School,said that Farrah has made a full and complete response to the cancer treatment and said that her prognosis is “excellent.”
Farrah did not specify which cancer that she was dealing with, but Ryan O’Neal, whom she has lived with for many years, told People Magazine that she was fighting anal cancer.
