Welcome to the wonderful world of dating. If you’re like me you’re enjoying your freedom to choose. The advantages of being single these days are you have many more options to choose from. If you are skeptical about the whole online dating scene I fully understand why. I decided that I would review a few online dating sites to see what they are offering us single folks. I ran across quite a few one of which was Friendfinder. Friendfinder.com offers a free standard membership to those seeking love. That is about all it offers for free.
This dating site forces its members to upgrade to their site right away. After giving introductory information about yourself you are allowed to upload as many as twenty pictures. None of which will be viewed by anyone who doesn’t have a membership. There is a long registration process that includes sending a photocopy of your valid drivers license, state ID or passport along with a form printed from their site. That suggestion is not a bad idea if it would allow access to any of their services. It offers and added security to paying customers but that is it. Their heightened security only ads to it’s allure but don’t be fooled into signing your life over in the form of a membership. There are plenty of free sites that will yield you better results I’m almost certain of it.
If looking to join this over priced meat market you will have to sign up to be either a gold or silver member. Gold and Silver membership is required for all of their services including winking at a member you find attractive or would like to get to know. Most dating sites offer this feature for free. In other words making this option free is a marketing tool to lure you in. Trying to chat or join a group requires giving them a list of your friend’s email addresses along with upgrading to a paid member status. This is the most tacky request they have added, it’s approach is desined to get you to do the marketing for them. By telling all of your friends about the site in hopes that they will join as well doesn’t work for me when they offer you nothing in return.
Friendfinder.com boasts of 1,696,501 active members but does not tell if they are all upgraded members until looking at their profile. Pricing for these memberships goes as follows. 12 month Gold access is $139.94, for 3 months $59.94, 1 month is $39,94. A 12month Silver access membership starts at $99,94, 3 months for $39.94, 1 month is $22.94. A membership is also needed to read a person’s profile or look at more than the initial photo they have posted. On a scale of 1-5, five being the highest this site gets a 1. It is way too much hassle to meet anyone. They also don’t offer any free incentives to make you want to purchase a membership other than member’s pictures. Not appealing for the single looking to begin flirting right away with out spending a fortune. There membership fee is the highest I’ve seen so far. My suggestion is trying out a few of your local singles chat sites or telephone chat offered to the local’s in your area. Most of these are free to everyone or free to women so your chances are greater of meeting someone interesting is higher.
