Have you ever wondered what it would what been to have lived in the court of King Arthur? Well, here is your chance to find out at the Florida Renaissance Festival in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. You will have plenty of opportunities to visit the Florida Renaissance Festival. The schedule this year is for 5 Weekends Saturday February 10th – Sunday March 11th, 2007 (including Monday President’s Day February 19th) – 10:00 am til Sunset Plus 1 School Day Monday, February 12th, 2007.
There are so many things going on for the whole family but some of them are not for children so plan your day carefully. Renaissance Festivals are one of the most popular of all festivals, with many people traveling the country to see as many as possible and if this is going to be your first experience with a Renaissance Festival, you have picked a good one to start with.
Each weekend at the Florida Renaissance Festival Ft. Lauderdale is going to have a different theme, so you can take your pick and see which one tickles your fancy the most. It will not be an easy choice.
Weekend #1 Feb 10 & 11
This weekend is the Renaissance Romance Weekend and if it is romance you want, romance is what you are going to get. You will even be able to re new your marriage vows.
Weekend #2 Feb 17, 18 & 19
There will be more adventure this weekend because it is The Pillage of the Village–Pirate’s Weekend.
Everything is Pirate related, even the music, and come in costume and you could win tickets to the most unusual dinner theater you will ever experience.
Weekend #3 Feb 24 & 25
Taste The Repast A Wine And Food Weekend
This weekend you have a chance to help some needy in the Ft. Lauderdale area. And get a reward for doing it. They will be sponsoring a Food Drive Benefitting Gateway Community Outreach. You will get $3 off Daily Adult Admission with the donation of 3 or more canned goods. There will be a special Renaissance Vaudeville and Hypnosis Show and the feature of the weekend, the Royal Encampment Food and Wine Tasting Event; Sponsored by Beringer Wine and Cabot Cheese

Something Wonderfilled This Way Comes Fantasy Weekend
Costume Contest Get your imagination in gear and see if you can be the winner. They will also have a special show going on this weekend called Gazzo – Magic is Afoot!

Weekend #5Mar 10 & 11
Kiss” the Blarney Stone…Celtic Weekend – A Gaelic Gathering Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a week early with Irish Music and dance.
Check out the Royal Feast. It is a medieval 5 course banquet just for adults. If you have any knowledge of what went on at a medieval banquet, you know why. This has limited seating, so if it is something you want to try contact them for all the details as soon as possible. Not for the shy or those who blush easily.
March 2nd and March 9th starting at 7pm. Come for Friday night “PUB SINGS” at the Good Night Pub Stage inside the festival grounds. Of course there will be beverages for sale.
Have you ever thought of yourself as a Knight of the Round Table, another Sir Lancelot? Well here is your chance to prove it, if you have the courage to participate in the Knight’s Quest. You will be tested in Archery, Axe Throw, Test Of Strength, the Fencing Ring, Rope Game, Mug Toss and Chess. There are some pretty great prizes, so why not give it a shot.
