Spending close to fifteen minutes of walking in the rain I get to the store that I was venturing. Certainly, a matter of five minutes in a vehicle could have got me to my destination. Today the prices went up eight cents on a gallon of gas. Now to see the prices on gas is plain ridiculous! What and why are the prices rising, wasn’t there an investigation not that many years ago that claimed that we would never have to pay this much ever again. Where is that decision and promise, oh yeah I’ve forgotten we the people don’t make the rules, we follow them. We the people stay silent and just pump away cause we gotta do it to get to work as most of us commute. Well what if I don’t wanna, what if now the gas prices are so high I can’t afford it, let alone feed my family.
Feed my family? Have you seen the prices of honey lately. Not to mention the prices of eggs, milk and other household goods that well one kind of needs. I am a woman I need tampons.. that will be next to be on the rise and it’ll be back to stuffing old rags in our underwear soon.
What else will we all have to do to afford to keep on trucking and keep our country moving, without slowly hobbling along. Certainly, this will allow the job market to sky rocket, that is a positive thing. Or is it? In aspect of that thought, think that comment through a bit more and you’ll have your answer.
Most companies rely on selling a product, a service or sell someone else’s product or service. Deliveries will need to be made, a trucker Jake must pay part of his gas and then be reimbursed once he turns in his log. Jake spent his last of his paycheck at the last station on a tank of gas. How many hundreds of dollars do you think they splurge at that pump? Quite a lot, last time I asked a trucker was in 1996. He wasn’t happy then about the price being in the 90 cent area, and I’ve decided I won’t approach a trucker on the $3 level.
Our milk is transported by truck, train, and other freight type vehicles. What runs these things? Gas. Our mail, yes I am talking about our bills mostly. They are mailed to us and the price of postage is going up to a total of 41 cents, why? To pay for the gas to tote around our letters that The Kid used to carry across the country fighting off Indians, riding a horse in all kinds of weather and hand delivered the mail to the recipient. For pennies! Now, we can barely rely on our postal service to actually care to get our mail in our box on time. If it is a package most of the time from inside your home you can here the drop of the package and hope that Aunt Bertie didn’t send you something fragile or breakable. Your check, oh its lost, sorry don’t know what to tell you is mostly what you are told.
I called Washington head quarters on a numerous complaint that I had, I was told sorry for the inconvenience as if they had a lovely script prompt on the screen ready for this very incident. It got me no where.
Now gas prices is making everything sky rocket. Sure our wages got raised, but does it matter, it is still spent just as fast as it is made. A dollar gets you as far as a penny used to, but yet it can be so valuable. Every cent is valuable.
How about those who can’t get a job as they lost theirs cause of no gas to get there. How are they to find another? How are we to continue to even be able to survive? Prices are going to continue to inflate until no one can survive. I look for what is coming to darken our paths is worse than the Depression ever thought about being. Save your pennies, and hold on tight cause Bush has sent us down the toilet for more of a bumpy ride. Who is next in line, will they flush the toilet or use the plunger to get us all out of this mess? We are in deep.
