I have found two new Christmas ornaments that are simple and fun. Best of all you can do these with your children to make new memories.
Ornament #1 Christmas Foam Trees
Here are the materials you will need for this project: glitter, glue stick, hole punch, string, scissors, and foam sheets of the following colors: brown, green, red, yellow, and blue.
Step 1. Take your green foam and cut out an outline of a Christmas tree.
Step 2. Use your brown foam sheet to cut out the Christmas tree’s trunk. glue it to the bottom middle of your Christmas tree.
Step 3. Grab your whole puncher and punch out a hole in the top of the Christmas tree. Next use the hole puncher to punch out several different holes in the yellow, red, and blue foam sheets.
Step 4: Use the little colored dots from your hole punch to decorate your Christmas tree. Glue them in different spots to look like Christmas balls.
Step 5: Put glue on different parts of the tree, then sprinkle your glitter all over the glue. Shake off excess glitter.
Step 6: Cut a piece of string about 4 or 5 inches long. Put the string through the hole you made at the top of your Christmas tree. Tie a few knots in it so it won’t come loose.
Step 7: When it dries completely, write your name, your child’s name, and the date on it so you will always remember when you made the ornament together.
Ornament #2. Jingle Bells
You will need the following supplies to make this ornament: string (red, green, and yellow), 3 round jingle bells (red, green, and gold), 1 colored Popsicle stick (red, green, or yellow), and ribbon (red, green, or gold).
Step 1. Cut your red, green, and yellow string into 1-foot pieces. You will need 6, 1 foot pieces all together (2 red, 2 green, and 2 yellow). Take your ribbon and cut 2, 6-inch pieces.
Step 2. Hold your Popsicle stick flat, and then drape the pieces of string over the stick so that they are even at the bottom.
Step 3. Now take one piece of ribbon and tie it right under the stick to hold all of the pieces of string together. Tie it in a knot then in a bow to make it decorative.
Step 4. Take the three colors and braid them together until you get about 2 inches from the bottom. Then tie the second ribbon around the string to hold it together.
Step 5. Use the ends of the string to tie your jingle bells on.
Step 6. Cut one 6-inch piece of yellow string and tie it at either end of the Popsicle stick where the string starts and ends. This will be your hanger.
