This may sound a little odd to some but did you know that you can actually throw your own prom. That’s right you read correctly your own prom. You are probably thinking that this will end up costing you an outrages amount of money, but it really does not have to and your parents may actually like the idea. First of all if it is your senior year why not give the party of the year? Who says that you have to wait until after graduation to have a big bash? I recently spoke to several teens in New Jersey who originally came up with the idea, and with the help of their parents they made the night a really great and safe experience.
The first thing that they did was getting a group of friends together at least five, and sat down with all of the parents about the idea. The thought that it would be great because they could have the prom they really wanted and could invite those who they knew would not ruin the party for others. Remember that in each school there are always a handful of trouble makers that you have to worry about. They felt by throwing their own prom they would not have to worry about the trouble makers.
This of course would in no way replace the schools prom but be in addition to it for some. The parents of all of these girls really seemed to like the idea especially the part about the parents being the chaperons. What they decided to do was rent a hotel ball room, and have transportation provided for all of their guests. This ways they would not have to worry about anyone having any prom night accidents or incidents. Of course the price of all of this was divided among all of the families, and their guest. They all set up a budget which they had to stick to, and then begin planning for entertainment and food. They kept the food very simple, choosing to have a buffet style menu served by the hotel. The price of each of the tickets would help to cover the expenses for this particular prom night. The limo busses actually picked up all of their guest right from their homes and dropped them off at the hotels. In total then ended up renting about five limo buses, and since the limo place ended up giving them a discount it really was not that expensive. The girls actually sat down with the owner of the limo company and explained what they were trying to do, have a safe prom, and he agreed to give them a tremendous discount. The end result is that they all ended up having a great time, and everyone got home safe and sound. You probably feel that those who were not invited and could not afford the tickets were left out? But they really were not since the school still had its own prom. These girls just wanted to have a night where no one had to worry or stress about anything including their parents. They also chose not to go to the schools prom, since they already had their own.
