Women Love make-up, why is beyond even us sometimes. We like to look beautiful all the time. The truth is Make-up was designed to accent your natural beauty not to use as a mask. Here are some tips for applying make-up naturally.
We want our eyes to stand out but not so much that we look like clowns. This is what I do. Take the eyeliner of your choice, preferably one that matches your skin tone or accents your eyes, and apply it lightly to your top eyelid only. Once it is applied take your finger and gently rub it in so that it has light smoky effect. Next use one color of eyeshadow that matches your skin tone in a more natural color and apply it only once to the lower crease of your eyelid. Take your finger and rub it in gently to make it a more natural and subtle color change. Lastly Take your mascara and use it only on the back part of your eyelashes next to the eyelid. This gives your lashes a lift without all the clumpy mess and unnatural look. Your eyes are now complete and I bet they look darn good!
Choose the blush of your choice , though creme based blushes work best. Choose a color that again matches your skin tone in a more natural shade. Use your finger tips to find your cheek bone and place the blush directly under the cheekbone in a one motion sweep. There is such a thing as too much. One sweep of either powder blush or creme will do just fine. Next use your finger tips to rub it in using an upwards and backwards motion going towards your ears and your actual cheekbone at the same time. This spreads the blush across the bottom of your cheekbone to accent your god given beauty. Your blush is complete now. Even if you can not see it , it is there. Remember the key is to accent your natural beauty.
Choose a shade of lipstick that compliments your skin tone but yet looks natural. Try to steer away from extremely pale , metallic or bold colors. Also choose a lip liner that compliments the shade of lipstick you chose. Apply the lipstick as you normally would and then take your lip liner and it around your lips but on top of the lipstick. You want the lip liner to be applied lightly , the last thing we want is a circle of another color surrounding our lips so it looks like we have left over kool-aid on them. Lastly take your finger tip and gently rub the lip liner in so that it looks more natural. Now look at those beautiful lips. Kissable.
Use a fine loose powder all over your face to set your make up and buff out any blemishes. If you have some blemishes that is alright. None of us are perfect and we should not try to be. The powder will give you the translucent look you are looking for to accent your natural beauty. A note to self though , if it is a hot and humid day outside , skip the powder all together.
Notice I did not mention foundation , foundation creates a mask effect that we really don’t want. It takes away from the whole natural look. If you have lines or wrinkles it tends to settle in them and actually accent them more. Personally I steer away from Foundations as much as possible.
