PHP WCMS is a simple and easy to use content management system. This would be a great CMS for beginners. There are not many themes for this content management system but it is still a great system. You can install PHP WCMS easily through your control panel. In this tutorial I will show you how to install PHP WCMS through your control panel.
Log in to the control panel of the website that you want to install PHP WCMS on. Once you are logged in you will see the Control Interface Panel. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Fantastico link.
On the next page you will see a list of links down the left hand side of your browser. Click on the PHP WCMS link under the Content Management category.
The next page will show a brief description of PHP WCMS. Below that you will see the New Installation link, the amount of disk space required, and the amount of disk space that you have available. Make sure that you have enough disk space before you continue with the installation. If you don’t have enough disk space you may need to uninstall something or upgrade your hosting package. Click on the New Installation link to continue with the installation.
On the next page you will enter the required information to install PHP WCMS.
Install on Domain – In this field you will select which domain you want to install PHP WCMS on. You will have more than one choice if you have sub-domains on this domain. You can install PHP WCMS on a sub-domain.
Install in Directory – In this field you will select if you want to install it in the root directory or a sub-directory. Leave this field blank if you wish to install it in the root directory. Enter the name of the new directory that you want to use if you wish to install it in a sub-directory. Make sure that this directory does not exist.
Admin Access Data
Administrator Username – Enter a username to use when you log in to the admin area.
Password – Enter a password to go along with the username above.
Admin Email – Enter your email address in this field.
Admin Full Name – Enter your name in this field.
Preferred Language – Select the language that you wish to use.
Once you are finished with all of the fields click the Install PHP WCMS button.
The next page will tell you that you have chose to install PHP WCMS on so and so domain and in so and so directory. If this information is correct, click the Finish Installation button. Click the back button if you wish to change this information.
On the last page you will see your username, password, and the url to log in to the admin panel of PHP WCMS. You need to bookmark or print this information incase you forget it in the future.
