Does your postpartum tummy look like it has been ridden over with a dirt bike? Perhaps it looks more like the result of a battle with Freddy Krueger. Does your postpartum tummy bear a slight resemblance to a zebra after an unfortunate encounter with a lion? If so, congratulations! Welcome to Motherhood.
You’ve no doubt that your child was absolutely worth the havoc that now boldly displays itself across your midriff. You know that you would never trade your precious baby to have back that smooth, sleek stomach you once flaunted so confidently. There is nothing in the world that can convince you that having to revamp your wardrobe with longer tees and tanks is a hassle, with no reward. No, you are a fine woman. One that is utterly devoted to her children. You are a woman committed to putting them before everything else. You are someone who would give her life for her children. You are a mother. God bless you.
You are also a woman. All nobility aside, you are likely even a little vain. If nothing else, there is that tiny part of you that fantasizes about the days of cropped tops and bikinis. Fortunately, that life need not be over. In fact, with a little creativity, you can reinvent your postpartum tummy into an even better one.
The most obvious and easiest way to reinvent your postpartum tummy is with a good old mural tattoo. This is a tattoo of your choice designed to cover your entire stomach. It could be a scene of waves crashing, with seagulls flocking. Depending on the intensity of your stretch marks, the mural could be a large flower, circling your postpartum tummy. Or you could even get a mural done of your child’s adorable face. Whatever design you choose, the postpartum tummy mural is a surefire way to cover any unsightly marks left from pregnancy.
Another option is to sew colorful stitching along each of your stretch marks. You can even alternate colors. If you are going to have lines down your stomach anyways, they might as well be the color of your choice, right?
Instead of completely covering your stretch marks up with a mural, why not incorporate them into a scene, like a city skyline?
You could brand something onto your postpartum tummy. Trade in those zigzagged lines for a puffy phrase, maybe something like “Hard-Core Mama”. You could even tattoo your brand with your favorite color, doubling the aesthetic aspect.
Clearly, there are a number of options for reinventing your postpartum tummy. With a little forethought you can design a stomach better than you could have ever hoped for.
