There are some celebrities who are popular for their talent, and then there are the others. The infamous ones, who are famous for rising among the Hollywood ranks of celebrity with a total disregard for assuming any responsibility of having the slightest hint of talent. The man and the legend, named Kevin Federline, is the poster boy for the latter category. K-Fed has become an inspration for every wannabe back street rapper and hip-hop dancer in America. So where did Kevin Federline come from?
The K-Fed was born on March 21, 1978 in Fresno County, California. Growing up with the influences of music from the 80’s, Kevin entered his teens while MC Hammer and Vanillla Ice were doing their thing. Kevin soon decided that his ambitions could be realized through dancing. At first glance, this seems an unlikely combination for this highly caffinated, self-directed, teen-minded man. Yet, the K-Fed style of dance was a perfect fit for the last of the boy bands when he emerged on the music scene. With little money of his own, Kevin Federline made his way through the Los Angeles scene depending on flighty charm and big dreams.
K-Fed somehow managed to land a dancing gig as a back up dancer for Justin Timberlake. As images of fame flashed though his head, Kevin continued to hip-hop on stage, while charming the ladies off-stage. In an odd match-up, Kevin Federline somehow hooked up with Shar Jackson, the former star of Moesha. With no Britney yet in sight, Kevin and Shar became lovers and soon produced their first child together on July 31, 2002, a daughter named Kori. This would be the beginning of the Federline reproduction spree that would add three more children in the next few years.
Kevin Federline Hits the Jackpot
When Kevin wasn’t dancing back up or reproducing, he was delivering pizzas. Kevin stayed with Shar Jackson during these early years, going on to father a second child with her, Kaleb, a son born on July 20, 2004. By the time Shar gave birth to their second child, however, Kevin had already wandered into the life of Britney Spears. The fateful meeting took place in Los Angeles in April 2004. Britney was smitten with the K-Fed and soon asked him to meet her in Europe for her “Onyx Hotel Tour.”
Kevin and Britney had a whirlwind courtship, intensifying their relationship while they frolicked in Europe. It was Britney, however, who wanted to take their realtionship down the aisle. In June 2004, with former girlfriend Shar Jackson preparing to give birth in a month, Britney asked Kevin to marry her. Kevin actually told her no. It didn’t take long, however, for Kevin to realize the potential looking him in the eye, and he soon proposed to Britney. Unfortunately, K-Fed had little cash for a ring, so Britney purchased her own engagement ring.
Kevin Federline and Britney Spears were married in Studio City, California on September 18, 2004. The “Britney and Kevin: Chaotic” series soon followed, making Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey look suddenly mature in their version of newly married life, Newlyweds. Kevin and Britney purchased a multi-million dollar home and settled in. Kevin began working on a solo album in his new home recording studio, while Britney had baby dreams on her mind.
On September 14, 2005, Britney gave birth to Kevin’s third child, a boy to be named Sean Preston. Rumors of Kevin’s partying continued to disturb the marriage as Britney adjusted to motherhood with a few bumps in the road and a few visits from Child Protective Services. Britney became pregnant with their second child together, shortly after Sean Preston was born. In September 2006, Jayden James was born, making him the fourth child fathered by Kevin Federline in four years.
While Kevin’s marriage continued to struggle, he kept up with his plans of becoming the next big rapper. His performance at the Summer 2006 Teen Choice Awards failed to advance his music career, however, and his song, “Lose Control,” did not become the hit that Kevin had hoped it would be. An acting gig in CSI gave Kevin a chance to debut on primetime television in October 2006, in the role of a thug. He is also credited for an appearance on WWE Raw as himself, and in the 2004 movie, You Got Served.
Kevin’s big record debut titled Playing With Fire came out around the same time as his divorce proceedings. Britney Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline in November 2006. At present time, Kevin is still working out legal issues such as custody and spousal support (for himself). Last weekend, Kevin Federline was seen in Miami Beach, taking full advantage of the free drinks given to him at hot spot, Mansion. He plans to write his autobiography about life before Britney, and continues to hold fast to his rapper dreams, in spite of past setbacks.
