Chakra is thought to be the nexus of metaphysical and/or biophysical energy residing in the human body. There are seven basic chakras in the body. They are aligned in an ascending column from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Before we look at what all we can do with our chakras lets first look at what the seven chakras are.
The Crown Chakra ” Sahasrara” is the chakra of consciousness. It is the master chakra that controls all the others. A lotus with a thousand petals symbolizes this chakra. The color for this chakra is violet and is located above the head outside the body.
The Third Eye Chakra ” Ajna” is the chakra for time and awareness and of light. A lotus with two petals symbolizes this chakra. The color for this chakra is indigo.
The Throat Chakra ” Vishuddha” is chakra for communication and growth. Growth in this matter being a form of expression. A lotus with sixteen petals symbolizes this chakra. The color for this chakra is blue.
The Heart Chakra ” Anahata” is the chakra for emotion, compassion, love and well-being. A lotus with twelve petals symbolizes this chakra. The color for this chakra is green.
The Solar Plexus Chakra ” Manipura” is the chakra for the transition from base to higher emotion, energy, assimilation and digestion. Symbolized by the lotus with ten petals. The color for this chakra is yellow.
The Sacral chakra ” Swadhisthana” is the chakra for base emotions, sexuality and creativity. A lotus with six petals symbolizes this chakra. The color for this chakra is orange.
The Root Chakra ” Muladhara” is the chakra for instinct, security and survival. This chakra is located in the area between the genitals and the anus. A lotus with four petals symbolizes this chakra. The color for this chakra is red.
Now that we have looked at the seven chakras of the body, we can now look at what we can do with them. One of the things we can do with our chakras is a chakra color bath. Here is how to do this:
The chakras color bath should bring in healing colors and light into you. This will help you to become more peaceful. To do this start with your crown chakra and picture the color of this chakra hovering above you and when you are ready swirl this color above you. Then work this color down to your feet and then back up you. Once you have worked the color back up you move on to the next chakra and repeat this process until you have done this with all of the chakras in your body.
Something else we can do with our chakras is to exercise our Sacral Chakra. This will help with getting your sacral chakra functioning the right way. When this chakra is not functioning right you can have sexual dysfunction and/or blocked creativity. To exercise this chakra it helps to visualize the color of the chakra hovering over it’s location. Now to exercise it do pelvic thrusts and circular pelvis movements.
If your Heart Chakra is not functioning properly you can have trouble with trust, confidence and depression. To get this chakra functioning properly visualize the color green hovering around you and just hug your self. Keep doing this until you feel your chakra functioning properly.
These are just a few things that you can do with your chakras. There are so many more things you can do. If you enjoyed playing with your chakras with the suggestions I have given then try reading some of these really great books.
