Transforming existing clear glass Shower Doors into stained glass works of art is an easy craft project. You can update your bathroom for under $100 and really create some custom stained glass shower doors that will look super expensive.
You can make these simple stained glass Shower Doors for your own home bathroom in one day.
Making these stained glass Shower Doors should take you about 6 hours tops!
To Transformed Your Clear Glass Shower Doors into Stained Glass Art You Will Need:
Peel and stick lead
Clear glass Shower Doors
Stained Glass Paint
To start this Shower Door craft project you need to decide on a pattern. Your stained glass pattern will determine what stained glass paint colors you need to buy.
Measure the clear glass Shower Doors you are going to transform. Mark this space out on a piece of drawing paper and sketch out your design. If you have markers I suggest coloring in areas the colors you would like them to be. The more specific you are in the planning the less room for mistakes.
Once you have established your stained glass design you need to transfer it to your Shower Doors. I like to tape the sketch to the inside of the Shower Doors so that it shows through the front. You can fill in just like a coloring book!
Painting the stained glass is the next step. Use a natural bristle artist paintbrush to fill in your colors. Work up to the edges in each block of color. You will be covering the rough edges with peel and stick lead, so you don’t have to make them absolutely perfect.
Once your stained glass is completely painted you need to let it dry complete. While your paint is drying your can work on your peel and stick lead.
Remove the sketch from the back of the Shower Doors and use this to cut out your peel and stick lead.
This is a great way to make your stained glass look built in.
Once you lead is cut you can install it. Carefully apply your peel and stick lead over all of the edges, just like real stained glass.
