His Name is Goliath…
There is a man in Fremont Ohio that has the heart of a giant. His buddies call him Goliath. He is average in stature but that’s about all that’s average. Goliath has worked at many different trades. Plumber/pipe fitter, HVAC installer and repair man, Executive Chef, dining room manager, even a try at carpentry and furniture construction. Each of these occupations have given him a bit of experience that he carries in his tool belt today.
Goliath also has learned the art of givin’ in a special way. Just like his father, grandfathers and generations before he gives from his huge heart. Once on an Air Conditionin’ service call fer a dear little old lady he found a problem that was more than simple. He told her of the issue and she broke into tears. Her husband needed the air conditioner to breathe. It was August and the heat and humidity were high. He charged her fer the service call and returned that evenin’ to repair the unit at no charge to this sweet old gal. When she asked why he replied simply “Bubba Clause told me you needed my time and help. Y’all have a great day.” He left with a song in his heart and a smile on his lips.
He was workin’ fer a appliance repair man on Christmas eve. They had finished fer the day and were packin’ up to head home when the phone rang. A man called askin’ if he could git a repairman to fix his stove. Goliath sez “That’s on my way home I’ll git it. It’s Christmas ya know.” When he arrived at the home he found five little people huddled around the cold stove. The refrigerator was clunkin’ with a terrible noise, the children looked a bit bashful but happy. He also noted no Christmas tree or other trappin’s of the holiday. Goliath took a deep breath and went to work. He fixed the gas range, tuned up the refrigerator and got the furnace runnin’ efficiently. When the family tried to pay Goliath just said… “Bubba Clause told me ya needed some help today. Y’all have a merry Christmas.” Later that evenin’ Goliath returned to that house. He snuck in the back door carryin’ presents fer the little ones, a tree with decorations. Quietly set it all up. Still undetected he returned to his trusty old truck and unloaded a used washer and used dryer that he had rebuilt fer somethin’ to do. He then hooked them up in the laundry area off the kitchen. Quietly returnin’ to his truck wistlin’ under his breath… “Ya need a little Christmas right this very minuet.”
It was Valentines Day. Goliath was now workin’ fer a rental company that specialized in rentin’ all ya needed fer an outdoor party no matter how big or small. He was in between lady friends so no special plans. On the way home he noticed a limo broke down on the side of the road. There was a young couple headin’ fer their honeymoon trip. The driver seemed hopelessly lookin’ under the hood. Goliath to the rescue. From the back of that old pick up truck came his tool box. It wasn’t long before the happy couple were on their way. Goliath had told them of Bubba Clause and his mission to bring happiness and joy to everyone he met. He asked them to try and pass on the kindness and tell the person they were helpin’ Bubba Clause had sent them.
There was a lonely nurse in a far away sand pile. She nursed the wounded warriors, tried to heal their wounds and their spirits. Her Hummer had broke down on the side of a lonely road when returnin’ from a mission of mercy. A group of locals came by and gave her a hand when she tried to thank them one fella replied… “Bubba Clause sent us to help ya.” When she asked where he had heard of Bubba Clause he told her about a man in Fremont, Ohio. “They call him Goliath and when we prayed to Allah fer help he sent Goliath. Goliath told us about Bubba Clause.”
These are just a few examples of the great Goliath and all he does fer the joy of givin’. I don’t know all the stories nor perhaps should I know them. Ya see Goliath is my son and Dad’s don’t need to know everythin’. Love ya Goliath!!
