With over 70 million users across the world, Neopets is a active community, with lots of things to do. From games (over 160!) to trading items and sending greeting cards, you can do it all on Neopets. How much does it cost for all that fun, you ask? Nothing at all! Neopets is completely free!
Once you get an account on Neopets, there’s so many things to do, you might be wondering what to do first. The first thing you should do is get a Neopet! You can create your own neopet, or you can adopt one who is already named. With 54 breeds of neopets, you have plenty to choose from, whether you like cats, dogs, dragons or unicorns.
Once you get a pet, you might want to feed him. From your inventory, you can get a starter pack, with the food and supplies that you need to keep your new pet happy! When you need more food, there is always free food somewhere. Or you can play games to get Neopoints, the currency of Neopets, and buy whatever you want!
To check the status of your Neopet, just click on their name at the top of the sidebar to go to the Quick ref. There you can see if your Neopets are happy, not hungry, and healthy! If you are ready for a little interaction with people, go to the Neoboards. Simply click on the boards button on the sidebar, and choose what board you want to see. If you need help, go to the help board. If you are a newbie looking for friends or someone to talk to, go to the Newbies board. There’s a board for everyone, whether your interest is art, role playing, or the stock market! Make sure you read the neorules, to know what you can and cant say on the neoboards.
Once you start posting on the boards, you might notice that everyone has a colorful square next to their post on the boards! What is that, you ask? Its an avatar, and many people on Neopets enjoy collecting them. There’s many different ways you can get these avatars, from feeding your pet a certain food, to viewing a certain page at the right time. Once you have lots of neopoints, you are going to begin to wonder what else you can do with them, other than buy your neopets food. Some things you can do, is buy toys and pets for your neopets. Or you can save up lots of neopoints and buy a paintbrush. Paintbrushes change the color of your neopets, you’ll probably get one or two starter paintbrushes in simple colors when you get your starter pack, but there are many more colors than just simple ones! to see all the colors of the neopets, you need to go to the rainbow pool. To go to the rainbow pool from your inventory, just click on the top icon in the middle of the bar on the top of the page. You will be taken to the main shops map, and from there you can go to the rainbow pool. You can also use your neopoints to buy things from other users shops. Use the shop wizard to find shops that have what you want. On the bar in your inventory, the blue wizards hat takes you to the shop wizard. You can even create your own shop and sell your own items for neopoints.
