Party Ideas for Easter

by sumonova

Between all the families and friends and parties you have to visit or even plan for the holidays, here are some nice and simple ways to throw a party, what to bring to a party and the party games that will win them over.

Here are some different styles of parties. Following that are some ideas you can do to make each one fun.

Traditional Easter Holiday style party – This will be your typical Easter party with boiled colored Easter eggs, candy items and baked treats.

Church Easter party – This will most likely take place at your church after service. Bring you traditional church foods. You’ll want to dress up for church on this occasion because it’s pretty special.

Cocktail Easter party – This will be a non-typical party with more than just holiday foods. It’s more like a gathering of friends celebrate one of the last big parties of the season. There will be real food, baked goods and you’ll have to dress up.

Party guidelines:

If you’re throwing a party-

How to send invitations.
Usually if you’re throwing a traditional Holiday party, you don’t have to send out invitations by mail. You’re just calling your friends up and telling them to come with their children if they’d like to. It’s a smaller affair.
But if you really don’t want to spend the time calling people, you can send out an Evite. If you have e-mail and all of your friends do, you can go to www.evite.com. You’ll be able to personalize your own e0ail greeting cards and send it to your friends asking them to RSVP. For cocktail parties, you’ll send out actual invitations in the mail.

What to make.
You always want to plan out what you’re making for the party so that there won’t be many repeats if people are bringing other things. It sounds like a lot of trouble to inform people of what you’re making and assigning items to others but it’s worth it. If you don’t want 6 bottle of sprite and no potato chips, you’ll do it.
The host should always make more than the other people and bring a couple of drinks. You can make a couple of pies and bake a cake if possible. Also you should have some random candy decorating the place. Make punch and always have water ready available.
Then there’s the traditional stuff like colored eggs, Easter cookies and chocolates. For a cocktail party, you’ll need to make real hors d’voures and possibly a small dinner.

Games to play.
At a traditional holiday party you’ll want to play traditional games. There’s the egg hunt. You can plant eggs everywhere and have people go find them
There are just regular board games.
Then there’s charades. Fun for all.
For a cocktail party you’ll want to play a game sitting down, maybe more geared toward asking people fun questions. There’s a game called 20 questions that you can play as well.

What to wear.
As a host you will want to dress better than all of your guests. For the women, wear out on the town dresses if that suits you. For the men, you’ll want to wear something comfortable but also something pleasing to your guests.

If you’re going to a party-

How to reply to invitations.
If you’re going to a traditional party, you’ll probably be invited over the phone or through e-mail. Always mark it down on your calendar or RSVP in your e-mail. You don’t want to be a flake or disappoint your friends. For church you will already be dressed for the occasion. At a cocktail party, you don’t want to outdo your host but for the women, wear a really nice and respectable outfit. Men should wear something that suits them to go out on the town.

What to bring.
Your friends will probably be making the Easter eggs, cookies and candy. Bring something that is your specialty (in other words, not chips and dip). Bake something like peanut butter balls. Or bring a salty treat. But always offer to bring something to a party you’re going to. Even if the host declines, bring a drink. It’s a nice gesture. The church party will probably have food there but it’s always nice to bring a dessert. At a cocktail party, the guests should bring something sultry, not so much desserts. Or you could bring alcohol or a lovely accessory to drinks.

What games to play.
Think of at least one good party game you can play. Contribute to the party you’re going to. You can bring cards or you can bring a board game. You can even play a question game. If you’ve been to parties, you should know that it’s always good to be a delightful guest. At a cocktail party, you’ll want to leave it up to the host to bring out the games. An upscale party intends for the guests to be entertained. The host should have made a schedule of what’s going on so you’re able to wait and see what happens.

What to wear
For a friendly party, dress however you please. It’s a month of color and parties are fun so wear a colorful, light outfit. For church you will already be dressed for the occasion. At a cocktail party, you don’t want to outdo your host but for the women, wear a really nice and respectable outfit. Men should wear something that suits them to go out on the town.
