Located on Eastman Road in Midland, Michigan, Pi’s Asian Express opened in 2006 with successful publicity detailing their varied menu. The restaurant offers a menagerie of Asian cuisine, with ingredients ranging from sushi to tofu. Experts in the industry, the Pi family owns and operates other restaurants in the Michigan tri-cities area.
The convenient location makes this restaurant an excellent meeting place, and the business casual atmosphere allows for dining with a business partner or your family members. There are plenty of parking spaces available behind the store if the front parking lot is full, and customers are usually seated quickly. The neutral décor and large front windows set a positive and relaxing tone for customers, and the item display by the register adds a personal, cultural touch to the establishment.
The large food menu, located over the register at Pi’s, is clear and easy to read. An average meal costs between ten and seventeen dollars per person, with a main course averaging at seven dollars. Food is prepared and delivered in an average, reasonable amount of time, and the quality of food received for the price is exemplary. The side dishes offered at Asian Express, such as the vegetable fried rice or the California rolls, are inexpensive and delicious.
Aside from offering cuisine from various Asian cultures under one menu, Pi’s Asian Express offers some items not encountered elsewhere, including the recommended tofu teriyaki. Pi’s teriyaki sauce (with any dish) is irresistible, and the food always tastes fresh.
While it is a convenience, take-out from Pi’s Asian Express is not recommended. Frequently, orders are confused and mixed up, items forgotten, and the wait longer than quoted. Chairs are provided for your convenience while waiting, but the wait time can be two to fifteen minutes beyond the typical ten to fifteen minute wait time given over the phone.
While waiting, however, the hungry take-out patron is free to observe the excellent customer service provided to dine-in guests. If your take-out item is misconstrued over the phone or mixed up, you may not receive your money back if you are overcharged. Customers have been told that they ‘ordered wrong’ and are at fault for the mix-up. Always confirm the order on the phone and check your order before you leave. Like the dine-in cuisine, take out food always tastes fresh and is served hot when applicable.
Despite the frequent order mix-ups and underestimated wait times, Pi’s Asian Express offers exemplary cuisine. If you are in a patient mood, the quality of food will be well worth your attitude, especially if you plan on dining in at the restaurant. Location:
