*Be warned- This article contains spoilers!*
Did anyone but me think that Dead Man’s Chest felt like an episode in a television series? The first Pirates of the Caribbean movie seemed to stand on its own, although it definitely left me wanting more (as any good movie should). However, the second movie felt like it was just a piece of the Pirates puzzle. While I already love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I feel like when the trilogy is complete, it is going to be incredible! At the time of this publication, the date of release is currently set for Memorial Day 2007. So what is in store for us with this third movie?
For those who are worried about the death of our favorite pirate, Jack Sparrow, be assured that Jack does manage to cheat death, just as we expect him to. In fact, all of our favorite stars return for the third movie, so you can be sure to get your yearly dose of Keira Knightley, Johnny Depp, and Orlando Bloom.
Hopefully you are as excited as I am to meet Jack Sparrow’s father in this film, played by musician Keith Richards (Rolling Stones). If you felt as bad as I did at witnessing the demise of Bootstrap Bill Turner in Dead Man’s Chest, then you will be overjoyed to know that he too is allegedly going to be rescued in the third film.
As the title “At World’s End” suggests, this movie tells not only the end of the Jack Sparrow story, it also tells of the end of piracy. Historically, the time in which the Pirates trilogy was set is near the end of pirate days. The plot of this movie centers around end of the world of piracy upon the high seas.
Now what I want to know, and can’t seem to find anywhere, is if Elizabeth and Will are ever going to actually get married!
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (the third movie), is currently in post-production. The word around Hollywood is that producers decided to film the second and third movies at the same time. This was done with the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and is likely to become more common with movies that have pre-planned sequels. Especially when production includes filming on location or uses the same sets, filming two movies at once can definitely cut down on costs. (They also used the same group of background actors for all of the scenes involving extras in both movies, so look for similar faces!) So, to make a long story short, we know that things will probably look and feel similar to the second movie, but I am sure that the third movie will give us that great denouement that we have all been waiting for!
