There are several things in our lives that we use on a constant basis. These things range from the very simple, like a toothbrush, to those that are slightly more complex – like the family computer. However, there is one thing that as humans we have come to not live without, and that is the refrigerator. This appliance has been around for half-a-century, and throughout its existence this unit has gone through many different variations.
Ranging from the most simplistic form of just cooling and freezing your foods, to actually telling you the weather for weeks in advance. However, no matter how unique your refrigerator is, there is one thing that is common with all refrigerators — you want them to be able to keep your food cool for a long period of time. That is why I have chosen to review some of the top refrigerators for all types of use.
One of these refrigerators is the LG 22.4 Cubic Foot Bottom-Mount Refrigerator – LBN22735SB. This particular unit is unique upon itself because of where the freezer is located — at the bottom. This gives you more ample room within the actual refrigerator section as well as in the freezer. This refrigerator is absolutely one of the most versatile food storage units on the market today. Some of the features include an up-front digital LED temperature control, which gives its users easier control over their unit. There is also a great feature in place called which uses the multi-airflow system that uses vents on each storage level to keep foods of any kind cool and fresh.
There are two slide-out refrigerator shelves which make reaching items in the back of the refrigerator easier, there is also one folding self for quick access and one fixed shelf for additional storage. All of the storage shelves are spill-proof and are made of tempered-glass, which makes wiping up small messes extremely simple and easy. The refrigerator also has two OptiBin crispers which use state-of-the-art grids to control humidity to keep produce fresh; also there is adjustable-temperature deli drawers that let you set the temperature to remain colder than the rest of the refrigerator, thus helping your meats stay fresher longer!
LG has put into play a unique feature called, “Design-A-Door”, which basically allows you to slide five refrigerator door bins vertically or horizontally for a multitude of storage options. Of course, there are gallon storage bins for milk jugs and other large containers, and a dairy bin for butter and cheese. The feature however, don’t stop in the refrigerator. In the freezer they have used the “DuraBase” technology, which gives your freezer base a solid foundation that prevents food and ice from falling to the bottom of the freezer. And to make this feature even more exciting, the base is removable for quick cleanings.
The IcePlus feature offers accelerated freezing for up to 24 hours to make frozen foods last longer, which is great when you have a party within the next couple of days and you have lots of frozen food that has to stay fresh. Within the freezer, the main drawer is actually tilts down 45 degrees for easy access to food. There is one wire freezer drawer and one plastic freezer drawer, which gives your ample space for storing all of your frozen foods.
And to top off this amazing refrigerator they have put into place the BioShield antibacterial door seal which resists mold and mildew from forming. This unit also runs quieter than any other refrigerator on the market due to its “LoDecibel” operation. And lastly, the doors are reversible, thus allowing you to switch the hinges from the right or left side to better accommodate your kitchen.
