To make a Professional Clay Poker Chip Craft Project You Will Need:
4″X4″ inch picture Frame
Piece of plywood cut to 4’X4″
Professional Clay Poker Chips
Grout in a Tube
Start this Professional Clay Poker Chip craft project by taking your small picture frame apart. Remove the back, all of the cardboard, and the glass.
Now, lightly sand your picture frame with a fine grit sand paper. Wipe the dust away. Prime the entire picture frame with a good quality primer like Kilz.
Once the primer has dried you can add a coat of paint in your choice of color. I like to use colors or even metallic that can easily blend with my poker theme.
Cut your piece of plywood to 4″x4″ or the same size as your picture frame.
Layer the painted picture frame on top of the piece of wood. Carefully line up the edges and trace them so that they look it clean and professional.
Now, remove your piece of wood, this line will tell you where you need to stop your poker chips.
Lay your Professional Clay Poker Chip pieces filling up most of the inside of the frame outline you drew on your wood 4″X4″ piece. Now, fill in the rest of the space with a different Professional Clay Poker Chips.
Use the gout in a tube to apply grout in between the dried Professional Clay Poker Chips. Completely fill all of the open spaces in between the Professional Clay Poker Chips. Don’t leave any gaps or air bubbles because you will have to go back and fill them in later if you miss them. You can use colored grout instead of white.
Tip: Try not too get too much grout on the poker chips. If you do though, just have a damp sponge nearby so you can quickly wipe it away. You can use your finger or a paint brush to smooth the grout.
Allow the grout to set up for about 20 minutes, and then carefully wipe it away with a damp sponge or rag. Ring the sponge out in water to keep it clean, and then wipe some more grout away.
Once this dries you can re assemble your wood frame. Do this just like you were putting photo in there.
You can even pt the glass back in.
Cut out a piece of pastel felt to 4″X4″.
Carefully glue it onto the bottom of your Professional Clay Poker Chip coaster. This will protect your table fro being scratched.
