Real Estate in Brooklyn for Under $300,000

Brooklyn, one of the most famous places in the world and a great place to live. Home to Coney Island and Astroland Amusement Park and Prospect Park. It is known as the Borough of Churches because it has more than any other Borough. Transportation to Manhattan is an easy trip from practically any part of Brooklyn, either by subway, Long Island Rail Road or express bus. The real estate options for purchase in Brooklyn under $300,000 are co ops and condos and they can be in brownstones, garden apartments and high rise buildings, depending on the neighborhood. There will not be real estate in this price range in all neighborhoods, but this is a good example of what is available now.

Kensington is one neighborhood in Brooklyn that has a great location. It is near the shopping on Church Avenue, Flatbush Avenue runs right through the neighborhood and leads to Kings Plaza Mall and a little further down and you are in Coney Island. The real estate here is one family homes and older apartment buildings. A studio co op here will start at about $100,000.

Flatbush was the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. It is the place where you will find the Long Island Rail Road Station. Bedford Avenue is the main street along with Empire Boulevard. A one bedroom co op will start at about $100,000.

The Midwood section of Brooklyn is in the Flatbush area. The main street is Kings Highway, which ends right at Prospect Park and it is only minutes to Coney Island. A studio co op will start at about $110,000. A one bedroom will start at about $150,000.

Crown Heights real estate has beautifully restored brownstones, many of which have been converted into co ops and you can get a two bedroom here for about $150,000.

Bay Ridge is in the western most part of Brooklyn very close to Manhattan and right at the foot of the Verrazano Bridge. It is a neighborhood of beautiful brownstones and older apartment buildings. A studio co op will start at about $110,000. One bedroom will start at about $140,000 and a two bedroom at about $160,000.

Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn is located right off the Belt Parkway and is a very short drive to Coney Island. There are still charter fishing boats that go out daily from Sheepshead Bay into Jamaica bay all year long. The real estate has many relatively new buildings and a one bedroom co op will start at about $115,000. A two bedroom will start at about $165,000.

Bensonhurst is one of the Brooklyn neighborhoods that has a very convenient connection to Manhattan with the elevated B train running along 86th street. It is also right off the Belt Parkway and just east of Bay Ridge. A one bedroom co op will start at about $130,000.

Mill Basin in a neighborhood where private homes can go into the millions of dollars. Is located right by Kings Plaza Mall and just minutes from the Belt Parkway. The main street is Flatbush Avenue, which connects Mill Basin with the rest of Brooklyn. A one bedroom co op will start at about $160,000.
