I enjoyed eating at Benihana Restaurant in Citrus Heights, California. This is an Asian fine dining restaurant that will entertain you and your taste buds. There are many reasons why I give Benihana Restaurant a high rating.
The service is outstanding. As soon as I walked into the restaurant the hostess greeted me with a friendly smile. She asked me if I had reservations. She told us to have a seat at the bar if we would like and we would be seated at our table soon. We waited for five minutes before we were seated. The wait was not that long. We were seated in a circle with six other people that we didn’t know around a cooking table. A few minutes later the busser came and asked what with a friendly smile how we were doing and what we wanted to drink. After bringing us our drinks he took everyone’s food order. He also asked if with our meal we would like white rice or fried rice. There is an extra charge for the fried rice but I think the rice is wonderful and it is worth the cost. About a couple minutes after that the server came, bowed to everyone at the table and greeted us with a smile. He told us his name and welcomed us to Benihana Restaurant. He reviewed the food order that was taken by the busser. The server was very upbeat and friendly. He was also entertaining. The cooking was done right in front of us. He would do some fancy chopping with his sharp knives. He would fling food in the air and either catch it or have it land on the hot cooking table. He would place the food we ordered on our plate in a decorative manner. At then end of our meal he bowed to us and thanked us for coming to Benihana Restaurant.
The food was excellent. My husband and I had the Sacramento plate. It came with shrimp appetizers, soup and the main entrée. The soup was hot a delicious. It was a broth that had a little pieces of onions and eggs. The appetizer was shrimp and that tasted wonderful. The entrée was thin strips of steak with shrimp. The steak was cooked well done and tasted great. The shrimp was fresh and good. The fried rice was cooked right in front of us. It had onions, peas and eggs along with some spices.
The atmosphere was fun and clean. The place was painted all white there isn’t much décor but that was ok. The chef’s did all the entertaining which kept our attention the whole time we were there. The place looked clean and organized. I did not see any trash or debris. Even the ladies restroom was clean, free of odor and stocked with supplies such as toilet paper.
The restaurant had everything that I would expect from an excellent fine dining place to eat. I enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere. For a entertaining food experience Benihana Restaurant is the place to dine.
