I had fun eating at Casablanca Moroccan Restaurant in Sacramento, California. This is a Moroccan restaurant that gives you a fun dining experience. There are many reasons that I have enjoyed eating at Casablanca Moroccan Restaurant.
The service is very friendly and helpful. When my husband and I walked into the restaurant the hostess greeted us with a friendly smile. She asked if we had reservations and how many people would like to be seated. I told her for two. She walked us to our table and asked if we have been here before. She told us our server would explain the menu when he comes to our table. Her friendly smile and welcoming attitude made us feel already satisfied as customers. A busser came with a friendly smile and hello before our server did and poured us some water. The server came to our table about a few minutes after the busser did. The server asked if we had any questions or if we were ready to order. The menu was small but I knew the food experience wasn’t going to be. This was a five-course meal, which meant you needed to eat here on a complete empty stomach. They mainly had stew dishes. I asked him what was good. He gave us a couple of suggestions and told us it basically depends on what type of meat you like otherwise all the dishes are the same. I saw they have chicken, beef, lamb and even rabbit on the menu. Both my husband and I like chicken so we ordered the chicken stew. He then asked us if we wanted something to drink such as soda. We ordered sodas. After he took our order he told us he would be back shortly with our drinks. He came back two minutes later with our sodas and an appetizer. He also had this water that he sprayed on our hands before we started eating. Moroccan style of eating is eating with your hands so our hands needed to be washed before we began to eat. The water had a nice rose scent to it. After a few minutes he checked back to see if we were enjoying our appetizer. He also refilled our waters and asked if we wanted a refill on the sodas.
The food was very good. The eating experience lasts about two hours by the time you are done with everything. So plan on eating and relaxing for two hours. The five-course meal cost eighteen dollars per person. It is well worth the experience. The appetizer is chicken and spices all stuffed in this thin-crusted bread. Wait a few minutes before eating because it is very hot and your hands will burn if you don’t wait. The soup is creamy tomato and it is very hot and good. The salad is lettuce drizzled with some dressing. What is the highlight of the salad is the dressing. It is unique in tasted and very good. The stew dishes are hot and good. They come with fresh vegetables. There is rice that is included with the stew. My husband and I felt full by the time we were half way finished with our entrees. They bring it a little pastry dessert at the end of your meal. It is a honey almond pastry that tastes wonderful.
The atmosphere was entertaining. As soon as you walked into the restaurant you see all the employees dressed in Moroccan outfits. The seating area is actually on the floor. You sit on pillows and you eat on a small silver table. The ceiling has what looks like colorful scarves draped throughout the entire restaurant. You really feel like you are at a different place. We were there on a Friday night so they had belly dancing. It was nice being entertained while we eat. We felt like kings and queens.
The restaurant had everything that I would expect from an excellent place to eat. I enjoyed the service, food, entertainment and atmosphere. For a fun Moroccan experience Casablanca Moroccan Restaurant is a fun dining place to eat.
