I enjoyed eating at the Elephant Bar in Sacramento, California. This is an all American restaurant that will leave you feeling full and satisfied after your meal. There are many reasons I give two thumbs up to the Elephant Bar.
The service is friendly, helpful and attentive. When I walked into the restaurant the hostess greeted me with a warm smile. She asked me for how many people and I told her for one. She had me follow her to my table. As she walked me to the table she continued to smile and engage in a little small talk. I thought she was nice and I felt valued as a customer. When she seated me she handed me the menu and told me my server would be with me shortly. The busser approached me a minute later with a smile and some water. At the same time the server greeted me with a smile and asked if I would like something to drink. He also asked if I would like to start off the order with an appetizer. I asked him what was good. He told me the calamari, nachos and mozzarella sticks. I selected the calamari and he told me that was a good choice. I thought he was helpful in the decision making process. Then he asked what I wanted to eat. I told him the lamb shanks. He asked if I wanted the half or full rack. I told him the half rack. After he took my order he told me he would be back shortly with my drink. He came back in three minutes with my soda and appetizer. It took an additional fifteen minutes before my main entrée was brought to me. He asked if I needed anything else and told me to enjoy our meal. After a few minutes he checked back to see if I was enjoying my meal. I thought he was very attentive and friendly.
The food was excellent. The calamari tasted fresh and was nicely seasoned. The dipping sauce was spicy and good. The lamb shank was great in portion for a half rack. It tasted tender and good. The mash potatoes were creamy and smooth. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The meal was a total delight.
The price of the food was also reasonable. My meal cost fifteen dollars. Most food items are around eight dollars. If you buy appetizer and dessert that will increase the cost of your bill.
The atmosphere was attractive. It had a safari look to it. There was a big elephant statue in the restaurant. There were palm trees and other nature like décor, which made the place entertaining to look at.
The restaurant had everything that I would expect from an excellent place to eat. I enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere. For a friendly and entertaining place to eat the Elephant Bar restaurant is the place to eat.
