Neutrogena’s Norwegian Skin Formula Lotion and Hand Cream have captivated my attention as I have dry skin and all over eczema and am always looking for new products to keep my skin soft.
Neutrogena’s Norwegian Body Moisturizer is an amazing product. It seals in moisture to the skin if you use it while you’re still slightly wet from your bath or shower. The feel of it is very nice. With my eczema, keeping my skin moisturized is a priority. I feel that this lotion is one of the better products. It’s a little heavy of a coating for the summertime. Some people may find the lotion to be a bit greasy; but if you suffer from dry skin at all, you will appreciate it. If you have normal skin, you can use the lotion if you have an interest in keeping your skin soft and moisturized to prevent aging. I would not recommend this product for oily skin at all. In fact, I would stay far away from it.
In my quest to find a hand moisturizer that is waterproof, I also decided to try the Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. The cream is a nice hand moisturizer but not as good as everyone raves about. When you first smooth it on your hands, it stinks. Then somehow the odor changes and becomes pleasant. This is a little weird, but not a problem to me.
One of my main problems with hand lotions is that they make my palms greasy and make me want to wipe my hands. But, I ignored that desire–which was very strong with this cream– in order to measure the efficiency of the product.
With most lotions I can just wipe the greasy feelings from my palms with a towel. But, I knew with this one you had to wash it off completely. So I wiped my palms as much as possible on my thighs and went about my day.
One of the cream’s claim to fame is that it’s supposed to last a very long time on hands while also being waterproof. I did not find this to be the case. The first time I rinsed a dish my hands became pretty naked again. Overall this is a decent hand cream to keep in your purse and probably feels very soothing to apply when your hands are especially dry. But, it’s no more than that. I’d hoped that this product would be the best hand cream I’d tried, but I find it to be just a good heavy hand cream that can be good on the lips in a pinch.
Overall these products are good quality products, but are pretty expensive. As the products claim, a little bit does go a long way. But, I wouldn’t make the hand cream a priority if I was on a limited budget. I would do so for the lotion though if I had dry skin. Still though unfortunately, my search for the perfect hand cream will continue.
