This simple Silk Rose candle votive is the perfect centerpiece for a wedding dinner table. Almost anyone I know can make this simple and elegant Silk Rose candle votive for their wedding or even to simply add some romance to their own dinner table!
Overall it should take about 30 minutes or less to make the whole project. The best part of this simple Silk Rose candle votive is that it uses affordable glass candle votives as a base to an elegant looking wedding craft project. You can also use those globe shaped vases that shorter flower arrangements come in. I always end up with a ton of these!
To Make This Simple Silk Rose Candle Votive For You Will Need:
Glass candle votive or rounded short flower vase
Silk Roses (lots of them)
Hot glue or tacky glue
Candle (tea candle or floating candle)
Now, the first step is to thoroughly clean your glass candle votive. I like to use an ammonia base cleaner to make sure I get anything that might keep my roses from sticking.
Now, plug in your hot glue gun.
Go ahead and lay out your Silk Roses. I find that Silk Rose in one color look best. Different colors of Silk Rose are ok, but sort of do not look as elegant as using one color of silk roses on this simple wedding table centerpiece.
The good thing about using hot glue is that it set sup quickly, which keeps this simple project form taking too long!
Take some scissors or wire snips and clip of off the book or bud of each of you silk roses. Some silk roses may simply pop off. Either way works fine, you only want the bud or bloom. Save a few leaves to the side.
Now, Squeeze out some glue onto the back of the Silk Rose where the plastic base is. Press the Silk Rose into the outside of the glass candle votive or vase. I like to start on the bottom edge of the glass votive and work my way up gluing on the Silk Rose.
Now, work around and around the glass jar. Work up attaching the Silk Rose and pieces until you get about 2/3 of the glass jar. Leave the top few inches plain.
Slip a tea candle or pillar candle into the Silk Rose candle votive and you are finished. You could also fill it with a few inches of water and add some floating candles to you wedding able candle votive.
For a shabby chic look try buying all of the Silk Rose in an antique white color. You can take some silver or gold fabric paint and lightly touch the edges with a paint push to add some elegant high light.
You could also use a toothbrush to flick dots of metallic paint onto the silk rose wedding centerpiece to add some dashes of light color!
Don’t forget you will be able to see any glue that leaks out form behind the Silk Rose, so do not put so much that it squishes out on the sides.
Also, try to butt the Silk Rose up next to each other on the candle votive as close as they will go.
