In the state of South Carolina you are required to sit for the South Carolina Bar Exam if you want to practice law. To qualify for the South Carolina Bar Exam you only need to meet a few requirements. The first qualification is that the candidate has a law degree from an ABA approved law school. THE EXAM’S FORMAT
The South Carolina Bar Exam will span three days. It is given in the city of Columbia during the last week of February and during the last week of July. On the first day of the exam you will be tested via essay questions over six different legal topics. To pass this section of the South Carolina Bar Exam you will need a minimum score of 70 points out of 100. On the third day of the exam you will be given the Multistate Bar Exam. This exam is made up of 200 multiple choice questions that cover general legal issues.
