To Transformed Your Clear Glass Tea Candle Votives into Elegant Wedding Favors You Will Need:
Peel and stick lead
Clear glass Tea candle votive
Stained Glass Paint
Clear favor bags
To start this wedding favor craft project you need to decide on a pattern. Your stained glass pattern will determine what stained glass paint colors you need to buy.
Measure the clear glass Tea candle votive you are going to transform. Mark this space out on a piece of drawing paper and sketch out your design. If you have markers I suggest coloring in areas the colors you would like them to be. The more specific you are in the planning the less room for mistakes.
Once you have established your stained glass design you need to transfer it to your Tea candle votive. I like to tape the sketch to the inside of the Tea candle votive so that it shows through the front. You can fill in just like a coloring book!
Painting the stained glass is the next step. Use a natural bristle artist paintbrush to fill in your colors. Work up to the edges in each block of color. You will be covering the rough edges with peel and stick lead, so you don’t have to make them absolutely perfect.
Once your stained glass is completely painted you need to let it dry complete. While your paint is drying your can work on your peel and stick lead.
Remove the sketch from the back of the window and use this to cut out your peel and stick lead.
This is a great way to make your stained glass look built in.
Once you lead is cut you can install it. Carefully apply your peel and stick lead over all of the edges, just like real stained glass.
Now, slip in a tea candle in each small hand painted wedding favor. Drop them in a clear bag and tie them shut with a pretty ribbon. You can also attach a note to the stained glass wedding favor thinking each of your wedding guests for attending your wedding.
You could also be sure to paint these stained glass wedding favors in the colors from your wedding.
