This a fun project for the kids to make out of Vintage Wood Dice and display in the family game room or den. Their game room creations can be used to decorate the fireplace mantel or even the coffee table. Simple and colorful Vintage Wood Dice make this craft project fun and easy for kids!
I find great vintage wooden dice all the time at the flea market. They seem to come in great vintage red, green, blue an yellow colors. I love that they are all shapes and sizes, which give a lot of color and dimension to this simple little frame!
To make this simple Vintage Wood Dice picture frame kids will need:
Vintage Wood Dice 1 inexpensive wood picture frame
I find great little Vintage Wood Dice at the flea market and even online at ebay. They are super cheap and perfect to turn into this simple Vintage Wood Dice frame craft project.
So, the first thing I like to do is lightly sand the picture frame. Make sure you take the back off and the glass out.
Wipe off any dust.
Paint on a layer of primer.
Now, once that has dried go ahead and paint your picture frame in any color you like. Use milk paint to keep the vintage look going. The whole reason to paint this frame is that you can see it behind the Vintage Wood Dice, so you want it to match.
Once the paint had dried you can start to glue on your Vintage Wood Dice. I like to use Vintage Wood Dice for this simple vintage craft project.
For a simplified look try gluing all green Vintage Wood Dice onto the frame. You can run a bead of hot glue along the frame and start pushing the back of the Vintage Wood Dice into the glue.
Don’t forget to cover the sides of the frame with Vintage Wood Dice as well.
Now, if you used all green Vintage Wood Dice you should glue on a fun little yellow or blue vintage themed ribbon on the top middle of the picture frame. Look for a little fun and colorful ribbon.
For a fun and girly look you could paint new dice in vintage pink milk paint to cover the entire picture frame. Glue on a fun little purple ribbon and put a picture of your little girl in there.
To really preserve this simple Vintage Wood Dice frame let the gumdrops and glue dry completely for about 1 days. Then spray on a coat of clear acrylic spray paint. Then glue on the ribbon or bow if desired.
You can also rub on some wood gel stain to age the vintage wood dice even more.
Vintage Wood Dice s are also a great size for really small picture frames because they seem to be smaller than their modern day counter parts. I am not sure why the vintage wood dice are smaller, but they lend themselves to this easy vintage inspired craft project thanks to the varied sizes!
Tiny frame can easily be turned into simple Vintage Wood Dice picture frame magnets. Before you add any Vintage Wood Dice tale your glue gun and add a magnet to the back of the wooden frame. You can stick this simple vintage frame eon your fridge now!
