This simple Mini Silk Rose Petal Candle lampshade craft project is a great way to remake any mini candle or accent lampshade into a new design feature on your wedding dinner table with a little glue and some silk rose petals. I always see great candle votives that have a mini little lampshade resting on top of them. They are perfect to use on a wedding table as a centerpiece. The addition of silk rose petals make them all the more elegant!
To make a Mini Silk Rose Petal Candle lampshade you will need:
Mini Candle or Accent Lamp Shade
Clear hot glue
Silk Rose Petals
The first step is to take apart your simple silk roses. You need to pop the bloom or bud off first. Some will pop off and some will need to be cut off with some wire snips or scissors.
Now, pop off the plastic base behind the petals holding them in the shape of a bloom or bud.
Now, gently pull of the silk rose petals and lay them in a pile.
Tip: Use all one color of rose petal for a more pulled together and elegant look!
Now, start gluing on your silk rose petals. Simple start at the bottom of the candle votive lampshades Run a bead of hot glue around the lampshade. Start placing the rose petals in a layer, sort of like shingles.
Now, once that layer of silk rose petals is in place add another row of glue and repeat adding the rose petals.
Continue this until the entire lampshade is covered.
You could use rose petals in similar colors and start with the darker color at the bottom of the centerpiece. As you work your way up you can go with the lighter petals. Be creative!
Now, add this simple candle votive lampshade back on top of the candle. Set this in the middle of your wedding dinner tables for an elegant centerpiece.
For a little more shine try placing a round piece of beveled glass below each candle. It will reflect more light and add a nice shimmer.
Try sprinkling some extra rose petals on each table at your wedding. It will give your guest s something to pick up and might even work as a conversation starter!
Be sure to tie your wedding centerpieces in with your chosen wedding colors. So, if all of your wedding flowers are to be bright pink, then stick with bright pink silk raised petals to make these mini lampshades. It will carry on the color scheme in your wedding and provide a pulled tighter look!
You can also use some of the silk green leaves and add them in places to the mini lampshades as well. Try placing them near the bottom or periodically on the mini lampshades, just do not go over board since you want the silk rose petals to be the main focus of your wedding centerpieces!
