Surfing has always held a fascination for the American public ever since the surfing movies of the 50’s and 60’s. To be able to ride a huge wave with nothing more than a board between you and the ocean is the dream of adventure that many a young man and woman has had. There are great schools in the San Francisco area that offer surfing lessons for all ages. The only requirement is that you know how to swim. That should be obvious, but sometimes it is not. Each of the schools teaches a bit differently than the others. You need to go and meet with them and see exactly what they teach and how they teach. See what the beaches where they hold the surfing lessons are like. You need to be comfortable with the location and the teacher. When taking lessons like surfing, you have to have absolute trust in your instructor, and most importantly respect your fellow surfers and follow the safety rules. Surfing is not an activity where you can fool around. That being said, go and pick your surfing lessons and become one with the waves in San Francisco.
