Do you have a difficult time waking your children up in the morning for school? IF so it may be because they do not have any set bedtime routine. Believe it or not children particularly young children need to have regular routines that they follow. This means more than just setting a bedtime for them. For very young children this can include reading them a bedtime story, or perhaps you could take the time to actually talk to them about their day.
Your bedtime routine for your children should begin immediately after dinner. The one thing you do not want is for your children to just sit in front of the television, or to be playing video games until it is time for them to go to bed.
If this is allowed then it would be a lot of wasted time, and you are guaranteed to have problems pulling them away in order to get them into bed. If your child is under the age of six then you should stick to their bedtime routine seven days a week. If you miss just one day you can actually destroy the rest of your week. Making sure that your children have a proper routine will also help them when it comes to their school work. If you compare those children who do not have a bedtime routine with those that do you will see a huge difference in grades and in their social skills.
Of course as a parent you are probably exhausted after a full days work. But the fact that you are a parent means that you day starts early and ends late. During the early years in your child’s life it is very important that you devote as much time and energy to them as you possibly can. Since children are at school all day and parents are at work the best time to do this would be during or after dinner. Make sure that your child sees you are truly interested in everything that happened during their day. This would also be a good time to talk to them about any problems or difficulties they may be having. Your child will begin to count on this daily routine for comfort, especially if they had a bad day. It also gives them something to look forward to, and as they get older you will have a wonderful relationship with your child.
