Katie Holmes could use a huge dose of reality right now. On the arms of her now husband Tom Cruise she still appears to be a puppet. A beautiful Stepford Wife whose purpose in life is simply to make her man look good. Even though she and Tom have an infant daughter, now is the time for Katie to make her escape!
By not indicating any one man, I underscored the fact that I think she simply needs to get out. It doesn’t really matter who she chooses, as long as the man isn’t a scientologist like Tom. As long as Katie is away from Tom, she has a shot at making a life for herself and giving her daughter a more normal childhood out of the spotlight. There just isn’t room in her current relationship. Tom and his couch jumping have sucked the life right out of her, and she needs to reclaim it before it is too late.
By going anywhere not in Hollywood, Katie and her mystery date will be able to stay out of the spotlight and avoid an absolute blur of paparazzi, not to mention mobs of angry scientologists everywhere. In addition, Katie needs to get away from it all. Due to the fact that she became so famous at such a tender age, I doubt that she has had much of an opportunity to experience a normal life. I wonder if she would even know what that would entail. I seriously doubt it. She needs to figure that out for herself before her daughter becomes more traumatized than necessary. After all, that poor little girl has to deal with the strange legacy of her father.
As if her father weren’t bad enough, her poor Mom appears to have lost her very soul, her reason for being. If nothing else, Katie needs to go out with Mister X for the simple reason that she needs to learn how to live again. She needs to know how to simply be Katie again, not TomKat. She needs to forge her own identity before Tom Cruise copyright’s it. Many women have lost themselves in a man, but Katie would have been better off if she had done so. It appears as though something ever deeper took place. At times, she almost appears drugged, as if she has lost her ability to even speak for herself.
Now I would normally agree that women do not need a man to save them. However, in Katie Holmes’ case, it would be an exception. Mr. X would save her from herself, as well as a lifetime of a hyped-up Tom Cruise. From the beginning, it appears that Tom has tried to control Katie’s religion, contact with her family, the wedding ceremony, and even the birth of their daughter. Enough is enough! Someone needs to rescue her, even if it isn’t mysterious Mr. X.
Having mysterious Mr. X sweep her off her feet for a week or two out of the Hollywood limelight would not be the worst thing in the world for Katie after suffering through her husband’s antics of the last year and a half. Maybe it would give her some perspective on her life and make her realize just what she is doing to her daughter. If her own Mom can’t help her, I’m not sure who can. It certainly wouldn’t be her Dad! By giving herself some room to grow and develop as an individual, Katie would be able to make a more objective regarding Tom and the control that he has over her life. A mystery date just might be the beginning of something wonderful!
