As I read through the forums on Associated Content, I see post where people are worried about the low star ratings and the negative post people have made on their articles. On a personal level this can be very upsetting to an individual who has pour their heart into writing an article only to have it be down rated by someone. Not to mention going to read comments that are posted on an article only to see very nasty and negative posts. But rest assured that on a professional level stars and post won’t mean a thing for your portfolio.
In the forums I have also read post made that were not on a personal level as far as the down rating and the negative comments go. These are more on a professional level of worrying about building a portfolio that has negative star ratings and nasty comments connected to it. Well let me tell you that there is a way around this where your star rating and nasty comments will not harm your portfolio at all. By doing this you can be assured that a prospective publisher will only see your writing style and not what other people think of what or how you wrote.
At the very top of your article is a print button. If you click this instead of hitting file and print off of your browser , nothing but what shows up in the pop up window will be printed. What you see in the pop up window is all that will be printed. There will be no stars ratings or comments printed with your article. This will guarantee that you should not have to worry about what rating your article has nor should you worry about what comments are posted on your article.
Now that you have printed your article free of ratings and comments forward this on as an example of your writing style and what you have already had published. With your article showing at the bottom that it is copyrighted by Associated Content this will show that you have indeed been published. So refrain from sending an prospects directly to your article on the web as they will then see the stars and posts. Also don’t send them to your producers page. Make sure what you send them is directly printed off .
If you have to send in an example of your published work you can still do this with out the stars rating and comments on it. Hit the print button on your article page that is right above your article title just like you would do if you were going to print the article. Once the pop up page has loaded just click the file button on that page and save your article. Once that is done just attach it right along with any other attachment that your prospective publisher has asked for.
I can not tell you how to get over the feeling that you have when your article is down rated or when someone posts nasty comments to one of your articles. On a personal level this will always be a sensitive subject. But at least on a professional level and for your portfolios sake it doesn’t have to mean a thing.
