Rocking Horse Ranch is the perfect getaway for the whole family. They encourage you to bring your children. Even though it’s cold out, the horses still love to take you for rides. They have full snow making coverage for their whole ranch. Well trained ski instructors will help you ski, if you have no experience. They even have classes to show the younger ones what they should and should not do. They have two ski lifts for your convince. They have boots and skis that you can borrow for no additional charge if you stay the night here. Well groomed trails for the snow tube run make up part of this ranch. The snow tube run even has a lift so you wont need to walk all the way back up the hill. If ice skating is your thing, they have that to. They offer a children’s day camp here to. Place the kids in day camp for a day or two so the adults can go have some adult fun. With out worrying about the kids. Don’t worry, the kids don’t stay cooped up in a room either. While they are in the day camp, instructors will take them to do sports, take them on hikes, play games, arts and crafts and go swimming in the heated pool. When everyone has had there fun for the day, end it with a romantic sleigh ride to view the grounds. Then go warm up in the heated pool. Throughout the day here you will see many characters dressed up to have some fun with the kids. Some inside activities that are offered year round include archery, hot tub and sauna area, arcade, wide screen TV lounge, laser shooting range, Kids only pool slide, face painting, pony rides and a indoor foam factory with ballocity. The whole family is sure to have fun here.

Located in Orange county in the heart of the Hudson Valley. They are a huge hit for beginner skiers because when you purchase a lift ticket they will give you ski and snowboard lessons for free. It’s no wonder people love to come here. That is not the only deal they offer. They have special deals all winter long. They have ski and snowboard programs. They even offer women’s, teens and tots programs. If it’s not snowing that okay to, because the have machines that will make the snow, when mother nature does not want to. There tiny tot program is for kids who are 2-4. This program focus on introducing children to the winter play ground. They teach the children how to put on the skis, balance, walking, gliding and other skiing skills. This is a great experience for the children. This is a great place to go when you wanting to ski and have children.
Garnet Hill Lodge

Garnet Hill Lodge is a four season resort. Cross country skiing is a huge hit here. Discover snowy forest trails and the winter scene in the mountains. There are miles of well groomed trails for your cross county skiing pleasure. AT Garnet Hill you will find 2000 feet elevation with lots of snow, 55km trails which are groomed daily, set tracks and skating lanes, complete ski shop with rentals and repairs, PSIA certified ski school with lessons daily, Kids ski program, unique ski down, ride back shuttle bus and night skiing. Although snowshoeing is just starting to become more popular the past few years, they are not new to it. They have rented snowshoes for over 20 years here. They have the newest snowshoes available which are made very a very light weight aluminum or plastic frames. Along with that they have a snow and ice claw that will grip the snow creating a no slip system that really helps.
